About
Wellspring
A Wellspring is an abundant source or supply. The foundation was created to provide a mechanism for people to contribute to an educational fund whose approach gives children new life experiences.
Providing an outlet for children to experience new cultures, religions, races and nationalities, will have a lasting effect on their consciousness and will make them more productive and insightful adults.
Since Wellspring’s creation in 2004, we have been able to support educational programs due to the funds raised from our contributors’ generous donations.
In 2005, we funded a research program conducted by Washington, DC inner-city teenagers desiring summer jobs. Additionally, we funded several teens on a three-week bus trip through the Southern States of the US. This multicultural, multiracial, and multi-religious group works to instill lasting memories of how vastly different people can ultimately be very similar. In 2006, we funded an after school tutoring and mentoring program in Tampa, Florida. Additionally, we continued our giving in 2007. A Wellspring Foundation grant supported a 5-day, 4-night residential youth leadership and diversity awareness program for high school students in the Tampa Bay area.
To date, Wellspring has raised over $100,000 for its mission and has appropriated over 70% of those funds directly to worthy individuals, organizations and programs.
In order to read more about these programs and how funds have been distributed, we invite you to peruse our programs and grants section (link). We hope to grow our foundation to a level of self-sustenance in order to continue its ongoing educational mission.
